State Park at the Fair

Skip Navigation LinksHome : State Parks : State Park at the Fair

While visiting the New York State Fair this summer be sure to stop at the State Park at the Fair and sample some of our programs in an oasis-like park setting around the reflecting pool in front of the Horticulture Building. While the State Park at the Fair is the smallest park within the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation agency, it offers fun for all ages. It highlights the many interpretive and recreational opportunities available throughout the 178 state parks and 36 state historic sites in New York. Come share hands-on activities and explore interesting demonstrations and exhibits. Our mini-golf course is an annual family favorite.

Learn more about New York's magnificent state parks and historic sites in the visitor center. Meet parks staff that can answer questions and pick up a map to help plan your next trip. In the gift pavilion you will find unique items for those who love the outdoors. Choose from children's nature collectibles, posters and books, prints, nature inspired jewelry, mini-critters and casual clothing.

The Birds of Prey exhibit features live eagles, hawks, and owls. Come to the State Park Police exhibit and meet the police officers that patrol State Parks and Historic Sites! Inquire at the Park Visitor Center regarding days and times. State Park Police will also have information on boating, personal watercraft safety and recent law changes.
